WWDC 2017: What’s New Will Be Announced?

Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2017 is going to arrive on June 5 and last to June 9 in San Jose, California. A keynote will be the opening of WWDC 2017 which will start at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time at the first day, with announcements of upcoming products and services. So, what will Apple bring to developers this year? What’s new will be announced at WWDC 2017?

Major Software Update – What We Can Expect

iOS 11
A fresh-new social networking app, which allows users to record, edit and share videos, will make its first appearance with iOS 11 and is supposed to be a competitive rival to Instagram. Apple Music will expand its store with more original video; other updates, like messaging services for iMessage and FaceTime, payment system of Apple Pay will come to iOS 11. iPad-specific updates will be showcased. Apple Pencil Support for iPad Pro is introduced with hardware to realize on-screen zooming, panning and scrolling.

macOS 10.13
After replacing traditional “OS X” nomenclature in 2016, Apple will unveil the second iteration of macOS operation system. Although nobody knows for sure what can we get from macOS 10.13, we expect further incorporation with iOS features.

WatchOS 4 and TVOS 11
Refresh of WatchOS and TVOS will be revealed at WWDC 2017. Like macOS 10.13, there are no hints about updates of the two systems now. What we hope that the focus on digital health on Apple Watch can be continued and the support for Vudu and Amazon Video can be updated for Apple TV.

Hardware Showcase – What Rumors Say

10.5-inch iPad Pro
The long-rumored 10.5-inch iPad Pro is believed to be introduced at WWDC 2017 according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. This new iPad Pro model has similar size to current 9.7-inch iPad Pro but features nearly edge-to-edge bezels resulting in a 10.5-inch display. With improved processors and new iOS 11, it will deliver more efficient performance.

New Mac Models
New MacBook and MacBook Pro models will debut at WWDC 2017 with upgraded processors. The latest Intel Core i7 Kaby Lake processors will be used for 2017 MacBook Pro. Another rumor leaks that MacBook Air will get updates with new processors. But it seems that there are no design changes.

Siri Speaker
An Amazon Echo-like speaker with Siri integration is expected to launch on WWDC 2017. It has a fat body with mesh exterior. It runs on iOS and features facial recognition. Including some form of Beats technology, it can deliver superior sound.
